David Gardiner is a Senior Advisor to the Energy Future Coalition, where he directs efforts to promote energy efficiency and assists in developing support for Rebuilding America, a broad-based coalition of labor, business, utilities, manufacturers, and policy groups that have come together to foster a robust, self-sustaining retrofit industry that will cut the energy waste in 50 million U.S. homes and businesses by 2020. He is also president of his own environmental consulting firm, David Gardiner & Associates, which specializes in energy and climate change.
Prior to founding his firm, he directed the White House Climate Change Task Force, the group established by President Clinton to coordinate the U.S. government's domestic and international policies on climate change. Before coming to the White House, Mr. Gardiner served for six years as Assistant Administrator for Policy at the Environmental Protection Agency. Prior to joining EPA, he was the Sierra Club's Legislative Director in Washington, DC.
